day 2 - New York City

Vacation Diary - Day 2

So our second day in New York was a lot more exciting. To start off our day, we went to see the Statue of Liberty at Liberty Island:

Then we went back to Manhattan and my mom really wanted to go to Brooklyn. We could have just taken the subway but my mom made us walk the Brooklyn Bridge... :D I mean you had a great view from there but it was super hot! It was like 100°F (38°C) and we had to walk on this stupid bridge without any shade! It was still nice though:

Next we went to Chinatown and Little Italy. In Chinatown there were restaurants where the dead ducks were hanging in the windows upside down! 

So we decided not to have dinner there, so we ent to Little Italy:

There were looooots of restaurants there but I think Italian food in Germany or Italy tastes a lot better than what we had for dinner there...

day 1 - New York City

Vacation-Diary - Day 1

Hey :)

so today I'm gonna start writing about our vacation in America in summer 2013. My mom, my dad, my brother and I flew out of Frankfurt on July 6th. I was sooooo excited, especially to meet my host family and my friends (nobody knew except for my host parents and Kylee's mom).

Okay so we landed in NYC at like 2:30 pm. We got our luggage and took a taxi to our hotel. Let me just say: the taxi drivers there drive like crazy! Our hotel was right downtown Manhattan and we lived on the 29th floor! That was like the coolest hotel I've ever been to. Take a look: The Westin New York Grand Central

We took the subway and drove around for a little bit and I'm pretty sure we had McD's for dinner (haha what else). Well that was pretty much it for the first day.. I promise day 2 will be more exciting! :)

bringing this blog back to life...

Hey guys!
I know it's been over a year that I wrote anything on here, but since I went back to America to visit my hostfamily this summer I thought it would be kind of nice to let you guys know what I'm doing here and how my vacation in the US went.

So I thought it would be nice to start off telling you what I did that past year and then I'd like to do something like a vacation-diary where I always write one post about one day in the US.

So yea, after I got back from my year in America last year I did some stuff with my friends and got ready for school again. In Germany we have to pick 3 main classes before we get into year 11. These 3 main classes will be our most important subjects from 11th through 13th grade (yep! that's right I have 13 years of school). I picked English (of course!), Math (I really don't know why I did that!) and Physics (it's actually pretty cool). 11th grade was kind of hard for me in the beginning because I had to get used to the German school again (it's a lot easier in America!), so the first semester wasn't as good as usually, but the second semester was pretty good.

I was really excited that a lot of people that I know went abroad when I got back, because I was pretty sure they would have a great time like I did. Oh, and talking about people I know, there is someone new in my life since december 7th, it's my boyfrieeeeend! :D
His name is Luca and he is half a year older than me and I'm pretty sure you'll often see some pictures on here of him and me :)

Nothing really exciting happened last year so I don't know what to write about.. OH I got my drivers license on August 8th, but that's pretty much it. The most exciting thing this summer was going to America, definitely! But I'll talk about our family vacation in the next post. 

Last summerbreak, the one right when I got back from my year in America, we went on a small family vacation too. We went to Erfurt, it's in Germany and we stayed for like 5 days I think. It was nice but super hot. We did a looooooot of sightseeing and my brother and I didn't like that too much, but we had to go with it...

In fall my uncle had something like a wine-party at his vinery and we all helped a lot! The weather was super nice and there were tons of people at the vinery test-tasting and buying wine!

Then ther was Christmas.. We went to my grandma's and so did my cousins and my uncle. We took some family pictures and then we fooled around with the camera.

Then in spring all the Physics and Chemistry classes made a weekend-trip to Munich. We stayed there for three days and had to visit a thousand museums but it was fun and we still had enough free time to spend time together with our friends :)

it was a pretty fun night :) 

Okay so I think that was pretty much it. If I find any more pictures that need to be posted I'll post them on here but I'd like to start my vacation-diary in my next post.

Yea, I'm still existing..

Hey Guys!

Well obviously I'm already back in Germany (for a month already) and things are settled back in already. Well I have a lot of pictures to post from my time in america, but also from Germany.
I would've never thought that that many people are reading my blog, but there was a lot of people that asked me if I was gonna post something again and I mean I might as well do it.

Today is a pretty nice day outside, and I was tanning on my balcony when it started to get really windy so I went inside and decided that I could write my blog.
Well I guess I'll start after Kylee's birthday because thats when I took the most pictures since Ky was able to drive me around wherever I wanted to go. I have to say it's pretty awesome when you have someone like her. We drove around randomly and got out of the car at random places to take pictures. Here are some that we took at the breakwall in Marquette during summerbreak:

I really really love all the lakes in the UP. Most of them are too cold to go swimming in (Lake Superior) or they smell like fish (Teal Lake), but you can still take beautiful pictures:

enough of Kylee for now... During summerbreak ( I stayed in America for 1 week of their summerbreak) I went to a different breakwall in Marquette at Presque Isle with Morgan:

Morgan is a pretty awesome friend. She was always there for me when I needed someone and she still is. I can talk to her about everything and we spent some funny days together!

I guess I'll have to go back to Kylee because we really took a lot of pictures together...and I can't wait to see her again to take more pictures! Well I went to Kylees camp with her and her family for one weekend and it was reeeeeeally cool! We went fourwheeling in the mudd and the woods and we had soooo much fun:

Somehow I have the feeling that I have still a lot of pictures...well, I'll try to somehow fit them on here and tell a story to all of them.

Well we went to Traverse City for Breanna's and Connor's soccer tournament and we stopped by the fort in Michilimackinac by. That's where they have like an old village to show the history of Michigan.

Now that I'm already talking about my family I might as well post the pictures from our family weekend. It was the parents of my hostmum and all her siblings with their families. It was quite a lot of people!

We went to Stevens Point in Wisconsin for a weekend and we went horseback riding for a whole day.

Well I don't have a lot of pictures because there wasn't much time to take pictures but here are two so you can kinda see what it was like:

The most important part of a student in America is the graduation (Abschluss).

My time there came to an end and I had to leave my life behind. It was like a whole life in 10 months and to leave this behind wasn't easy. I left on June 14th really early in the morning and my best friends came to the airport with my family and me. Alicia, Morgan, Melissa, Kylee and Evan came to the airport and I think it'S really cool that they got up so early just for me. I love you guys ♥
